COMPANY PROFILE : STEWART/STAND® is a privately held design company established by brothers Theo and Paul Stewart-Stand now headquartered in San Diego, CA. The company designs, markets and sells design-led men's and women's accessories and other original lifestyle products to customers worldwide. Through retail partners in the US, Europe and Asian markets, this American design company has expanded far beyond its Brooklyn, NY origins - since 2002.  
 
STEWART/STAND has gained a reputation for producing innovative accessories for men and women with quality and craftsmanship that is unmatched in material, interest, and style.   
 
As a company with a patented portfolio of product design STEWART/STAND believes in producing design work that is original. Finding a balance in consumer product trends and our design theory help differentiate our products from competitors as well as ensuring exciting new designs.  In 2005 STEWART/STAND introduced the world's first Anti-Identity Theft personal accessory. Our stainless steel wallet design naturally  blocks RFID transmissions from credit cards, new passports + IDs that are RFID enabled. The stainless steel wallet was designed by STEWART/STAND and we remain the only design company producing the tailored craftsmanship required while working with stainless steel textiles.



BIO // PAUL STEWART-STAND : Since founding Stewart/Stand in 2002, Paul has overseen all facets of what has evolved into one of the leading accessories brands at the intersection of fashion and technology. 

While still at its core, a product design and development company, STEWART/STAND® maintains its origins in creative, original design with particular focus on continual improvement and development, production-led design, and a firm belief in free flowing dialogue with consumers to provide robust feedback on products.

A product of Union College and the London School of Economics, he maintains varied interests both within the industry and beyond.  He currently serves on the board of NY NOW a leading industry trade show in the United States, as one of five vendor representatives. As a member of their Board of Directors and as a Committee Leader for the Museum Store Association, he has contributed to the advancement of their strategic plan to move the association and the industry forward.



BIO // NIK CASTRONOVA : Head of The Studio@ STEWART/STAND®, the multidisciplinary epicenter of the product design + development company STEWART/STAND®. The Studio continues to maintain a focus on compact, lightweight and smart materials design. Partnering with visionary manufacturers, STEWART/STAND is able to successfully introduce «concept products» to market.  Nik oversees production of all graphic design, communication design, marketing + product design.

Additionally, The Studio manages the visuals for other brands exclusively distributed by STEWART/STAND® in North America. The Studio extends their creative talent to develop the media a business requires in bringing a product to market which includes interior design for trade presentation as well as developing all visual media published + distributed by each company. With a focus on Individuality in Brand Integrity + Brand Culture each company’s American identity is unique to all others and consistently translated for our market.

Nik has been apprenticing, studying + working in design since 1993. She began exploring artistic composition in a traditional print shop and moved on to a formal education in fine arts, design + marketing. While studying in New York she began her retail career designing and constructing window displays, exploring an appreciation for Trompe-l’oeil artists was established. While working at a graphic design firm Nik enjoyed the variety of clients + the diversity in identity. Continuing in the visuals + marketing departments in music, fashion, television + the diamond industries. Nik currently oversees the creative direction for STEWART/STAND, as well as the creative activities of The Studio@.
